A masterclass in pattern clash - MISSONI

Missoni's distinctive chevron pattern and bold colours have always been easily recognisable. So how do they manage to stay on trend after so many years? The answer is not to pull out older prints and re-interpret them, rather play with patterns and mix them up so that geometric prints will work harmoniously with florals and black and white will sit beautifully next to colourful weaves.

A tale of many patterns

When I look at the MISSONI collections

I think of Miami in overdrive. Everything oozes luxury.

Above, Anemone Dream, MISSONI.

The patterns are mixed while the colour scheme stays monochromatic.

The result is eye catching without offending.

At the recent interiors show Maison et Objet in Paris Missoni Home presented their new themes for the interior design and an outdoor line.

Oriental Garden with shades of turquoise, red and gold.

Anemones and Anemones Dream where the shape of the anemone has an almos psychedelic effect with gigantic and tiny flowers all mixed together.

Fireworks is closer to the brand's signature striped look.

Tropical Fish and Flower Galaxy which are aimed for the outdoors and are 100% waterproof. Now I know what to use on my yacht. *wakes up*

The new MISSONI Collections will be available at AMARA from Spring 2016.
