Contemporary feminine bedroom styling

As I was browsing pictures of our bedroom as styled in the last few years, I came to the conclusion that it is predominantly a feminine look, but not in the traditional sense. To explain what I mean, I may have to refer you to the Pinterest visual definition of a feminine styled room which three major elements: pink, white and gold.

Occasionally gold can be swapped for rose gold/copper and pink for peach but other than that, it seems that "feminine" bedrooms are almost carbon copy. You need more sheepskin than owned by a Norwegian sheep lord and more cushions than on the ground floor of Peter Jones on Sloane Square. Neither is appealing in my view, nor contemporary.

Now, I don't think pink is bad

But you should find a smart way to incorporate it in your scheme (in the above example I have to admit I like the top right corner picture - what do you think?). You don't necessarily need your bed covered in pink bed linen (although that could work as well, some linen duvet covers in dusty pink are just the best).

So to avoid misunderstandings, here's my version of contemporary feminine bedroom styling.
