Garden furniture for design lovers

What a month this has been. In the last 30 or so days we went full 'work from home' and have stayed within the perimeter of our own homes with the occasional venture outdoors to exercise and bring food and other home essentials. Never, and I mean, NEVER, have I spent more time in our garden and I have not felt as fortunate that I own this outdoors space. My garden has helped me wind down at times of stress, exercise, and gave me enough 'non-work' work to keep my sanity going.

It is therefore not a surprise that today's post is all about the furniture that I would love to have in my garden and I feel you would enjoy in yours two. To make sure I cover all budgets and styles, I have created 2 sections: contemporary high end; and contemporary budget.

I am very conscious that for many, this is not the time to be buying anything unnecessary. Hopefully, this post may still give you ideas about re-purposing existing garden furniture or giving them a contemporary look.

Contemporary middle range to high end garden furniture

Creating a sleek, crisp look in your garden, the Totem White Table with Savannah U-Shape Garden Dining Bench from Danetti, has style at its core. Their designers have really thought of everything when creating this exclusive garden dining set - from a showerproof, anti-UV coating on the cushions and adjustable feet to avoid wobbly furniture, to an ice bucket within the table - what's not to love? (Cost: £2319 for the bench).

When looking for a garden lounger one of the deciding factors has to be comfort. The Verano lounger has deep and sumptuous cushions so you can really sink back and relax. It is available in 3 colours and priced at £479 (including the footstool).

This makes the range both durable and weather-resistant so you can even leave it outside throughout the year. Make sure you bring in the cushions, which are resistant to light rain showers only. The seat cushions can be unzipped and are washable, with care. John Lewis & Partners Chevron Garden Lounging Chair, Black/Grey, £230.

At £480 each, the Cradle Rope outdoors lounge chairs, above, from John Lewis & Partners do not feel they belong in the budget section of this post! They combine a synthetic rope weave with an FSC-certified eucalyptus wood frame. The contemporary cradle-inspired shape suits outdoor spaces and conservatories.
