CUCUMBI (Portugal)

Price: Double rooms from £170

Agroturism at its best. This pared back hotel is a four-room, three-apartment guest house on an organic farm, that opened in 2019. We love the rustic, earth-toned interiors. if you're visiting, get a few good books, high SPF cream and leave your worries behind. The natural textures is what I would love to incorporate in our future Greek home.

Menorca experimental (Menorca, Spain)

www.menorcaexperimental.com Price: Double rooms from £170

Designer: This 19th-century Spanish ranch was re-designed by long time Experimental collaborator – Dorothee Meilichzon who reimagined it as an artist’s summer house. The hotel is 30 minutes from capital Mahon’s picturesque harbour. We love the use of colour of the moment terracotta and local materials and artisans throughout.

Parilio (Paros, Cyclades, Greece)

Price: Double rooms from £190

Within a10 minutes’ drive from busy Naoussa, and close to the sandy Kolympithres beach we find Parilio. In typical cycladic style, white cubes with wooden shutters make up this relaxed hotel, the fourth venture of husband-and-wife owners Kalia and Antonis Eliopoulos.

Parīlio is characterized by the traditional cycladic architecture and its interiors are defined by a soothing, tonal color palette and natural materials. Contemporary Greek design pieces sit alongside objets d’art by leading European designers, while striking ceramics sourced from the Marrakech based studio of LRNCE serve to inspire and provoke conversation.

Distinctive structural features such as arches, concrete columns, and thick masonry are representative of traditional building techniques and help to create a sense of sanctuary, resulting in a space that is both cathartic and elemental.

Designer: Athens-based Interior Design Laboratorium was influenced by both the island’s distinctive architecture and their own brand of holistic design when creating the visual concept of the 33-suite Parīlio, the name of which is derived from ‘Paros’ and the Greek word for the sun ‘ilios’.
